Joud is a multidisciplinary visual artist, graphic designer, and educator with more than nine years of professional experience spanning graphic design, typography, animation, drawing, painting, digital media, and visual storytelling. His practice bridges contemporary fine arts and applied design, combining strong technical expertise with a deep commitment to creative education, community engagement, and cross-cultural artistic dialogue.
Joud earned a Technical Diploma in Graphic Design from G.T.C and a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design and Multimedia from GU, graduating with distinction as the top student in his class. His academic training provided a strong foundation in Adobe Creative Suite, digital illustration, typography, branding, motion graphics, and multimedia production, enabling him to work fluidly across print, digital, and time-based media.
Throughout his career, Jude has worked as a graphic designer, video editor, creative director, and visual arts instructor, developing brand identities, marketing campaigns, publications, motion graphics, and multimedia content for businesses, nonprofit organizations, and educational institutions. His professional experience includes producing high-quality visual communication materials while managing multiple creative projects under demanding deadlines and collaborating effectively with diverse teams and clients.
Alongside his design practice, Joud has built a significant career in art education. He has taught graphic design, visual communication, drawing, and painting, developing engaging curricula that encourage both technical excellence and conceptual thinking. As a university instructor and mentor, he has guided more than 150 students, helping them strengthen their artistic abilities, develop professional portfolios, and prepare for careers in the creative industries. His teaching philosophy emphasizes experimentation, visual literacy, craftsmanship, and the integration of traditional and digital art practices.
Since 2021, Joud has lived and worked across Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Malaysia, Ecuador, and the United States, experiences that have profoundly shaped his artistic perspective. During his time in Istanbul, he participated in a major international exhibition featuring artists from 64 countries, presenting work focused on themes of identity, movement, memory, and the human experience of building new lives across cultures. His exposure to diverse artistic communities, contemporary cinema, and global visual culture has enriched both his studio practice and his approach to teaching.
Joud is currently based in Reno, Nevada, where his artistic career has become increasingly focused on contemporary painting, drawing, and interdisciplinary visual expression. He is an Instructor in the Department of Art at the University of Nevada, Reno, teaching Drawing I and Painting I. In this role, he combines studio instruction with critical dialogue, helping students develop observational skills, conceptual awareness, and confidence in their creative voices.
As an exhibiting artist, Joud has participated in numerous local and regional exhibitions throughout Reno and Northern Nevada, including the notable Limbo exhibition, as well as other juried and community-centered exhibitions that highlight emerging and established contemporary artists. He has also contributed to the local arts community through artist talks, collaborative projects, workshops in drawing, painting, graphic design, and digital media, and educational outreach programs across the United States.
Joud’s artwork centers on painting and drawing, while naturally expanding into digital painting, photography, collage, sculpture, and mixed-media installation. His work explores themes of identity, resilience, migration, memory, and the emotional landscapes that shape personal and collective experience. Through layered imagery, expressive mark-making, and a multidisciplinary approach, he invites viewers to engage with universal human questions and to connect through the shared language of visual expression.
In addition to his academic and exhibition work, Joud maintains an active freelance creative practice, offering services in graphic design, typography, branding, illustration, animation, motion graphics, and video production. He is recognized for creating visually compelling solutions that balance artistic integrity with effective communication and strategic design goals.
